Also includes a joint preface by Museum Director at Malmo Museum of Art Goran Christenson and Gallery Director at the Art Gallery at Bohuslan Museum Agneta von Zeipel, an essay by Professor of Art History Annika Ohrner,an essay by Martin Gustavsson on the twin fascinations of Jesus and Jean Genet that contributed so much to this exhibition, a list of exhibitions, grants, education, and a biography. This catalog was published in conjunction with an exhibition of Matin Gustavsson's work held at Malmo Konstmuseum February 8 to March 10, 2003 that then traveled to the Konsthallen-Bohuslans Museum from September 6 to October 2, 2003. From Annika Ohrner's essay: "As the title suggests, the work is a gospel. The narrative joins the two universes of religion and homoeroticiscm, the separation of which has been, and still is, preached. It is also an autobiographical meditation and a road movie. Hardly a Biblical story, but a secularised and grandiose statement." Acquired from the private library of photorealist, Robert Bechtle and art historian, Whitney Chadwick.
