Unpaginated, four pp. (introductory pamphlet) + 12 color plates + two pp. [Ministry of Culture pamphlet]. A unique and beautiful item published on the occasion of Costas Tsoclis's participation in the 42nd Venice Biennale. The item consists of an exterior hardcover folder in which two pamphlets and 12 plates are laid in. Each of the pamphlets consists of loose leaves laid in. One of the pamphlets is an introduction to Costas Tsoclis and his work by Curator Nelli Missirli. This pamphlet was translated into Italian from the original Greek by Sergio Coggiola and translated into English from the original Greek by Kay Cicellis. Each of the plates feature Tsoclis's works at the 42nd Venice Biennale. The other pamphlet contains congratulatory text from Minister of Culture Melina Mercouri, who praises Tsoclis's participation in the 42nd Venice Biennale. Costas Tsoclis (b. 1930) is a Greek artist who has worked with a variety of art media. He is perhaps best-known for his three-dimensional paintings and mixed-media art that feature videos projected onto a canvas. As shown in some of the plates contained herein, his paintings and video projections merge with their surrounding environment, blending the two-dimensional with the three-dimensional, idea with realization, and illusion with reality. Heavy and oversized items may require additional shipping.
