Covers have some fading along spine and edges of front and back and minuscule wear to extremities, else clean and intact, binding tight. Pages have age toning and minuscule bumping to tips, else pristine and intact. Replete with illustrations in black-and-white and color. Published on the occasion of an exhibition that showed from October 5-December 17, 1967 at the Asia House Gallery in New York and January 17-February 25, 1968 at the Fogg Art Museum at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. A survey catalog featuring the arts of the Heian period in Japan. The Heian period lasted from 794-1185 CE. A variety of artworks in different media were represented in this show including painting, sculpture, and metalworking.
