Excerpt from dust jacket: "The artists, Bernard and Harriet Pertchik, covered thousands of miles, from Antilles to South America, to capture at first hand the particular quality of such trees as the bell-flowered Jacaranda and the exquisite Frangipani. The folklore and legends that have grown up around these trees are included, and to increase the book's practical value, a complete, informative description is given of each tree's characteristics."
