Text in Swedish. Fine brown paper-covered boards. Covers have a few shallow indentations on front, a few tiny bumps along edges, and slight bumping to head and tail of spine, else clean and intact, binding tight. Fine black-and-white pictorial paper dust jacket with silver-foil lettering on front and silver-foil, black, and red lettering on silver and white spine. Dust jacket pristine and intact. Dust jacket protected in a paper-backed Mylar sleeve. Pages pristine and intact. Replete with black-and-white printed photographs. A fascinating biographical account about Kai Donner (1888-1935), a Finnish linguist, ethnographer, and politician, written by Jorn Donner (1933-2020), Kai's son. In the early twentieth century, Kai undertook several expeditions to Siberia to study the languages and culture of the Finno-Ugric peoples. Jorn was an author, film director, and politician. Jorn notes that he traveled to and photographed some of the same places in Siberia that Kai had visited.
