"Stories of fine characters both long haired and short." Accordion folded stiff white paper measuring 59" flat, here folded to create a 17 page book replete with Adele Shaw's charming full color watercolor paintings of cats, each accompanied by a character study written by Larry Dieterich. Some minor wear to exterior edges else clean and unmarked throughout.
Adele Shaw and Larry Dieterich are a husband and wife artist team collaborating here for the second time since their installation, “Second Bite: The Wisdom of the Apple” in San Francisco. Adele Shaw is a contemporary artist, painter and book maker. Her work is influenced by perception and the power of nature. Bringing these together in her studio fuses her interests in contemporary art, impressionism, abstract and action painting.
From Dietrich's text: "A credit to her breed, Matisse has a lot to say; she is very vocal. Her motto might be 'why just exhale when you can say something?' ... When she runs her legs resemble a whirling eggbeater and she often meows while she runs, which creates interesting sounds."
